April 17 Great Smokey Nat Park Fontana Dam to Russell Field Shelter 21.6kms

First time this walk with my overnight pack and a very steep climb up onto the ridge line of the Smokies. It was like Burke St and I was passed by everyone which was very deflating. I WAS HOPING TO get to Spencefield shelter but I had had enough at Russell Field Shelter.

In the  Smokies you have to sleep in the shelters if there is room. Unfortunately there were some worse scorers than me as well as sleep talkers. One person was so loud he kept most people awake. Luckily I had some herbal sleep remedy with me.My comment to those grumbling in the morning was you should have taken a sleeping tablet. They didn’ share my sense of humour.
